Ready for Newborn!

13 cloth diapers made, dried, stuffed and ready to use.

My plan is to use only 13 newborn size and wash every night. Also with the plan to use disposables at night. Hubby keeps asking when I am going to make the diapers that will have the patches on them. I decided not to make any of the newborn ones with the patches. Lets get the hang of things first.

Of course the baby will not only need diapers. Weeks ago (when I found out it was a boy) I dug through all the boy clothes I could find and sorted out all the newborn-12 month sizes. I have them ready to wash as I need them (I hate the smell of boxed up clothes). I also washed all the boy blankets I could find as well as the floor play mat.

Left to do:
-Figure out what room to put crib in (and decide on the roommate)
-Set up crib (not till closer to due date)
-Set up playpen
-Figure out car seat (it is not the same one I used with the other 3 and was given to me)
-Put together changing table
-Make new changing table cover
-Set up swing
-Pack hospital bag (not for a another 12 weeks)
-Sew baby quilt (I have to pick out a pattern I like and the colors)

I think that's about it. I have a pile of baby things in a corner of the basement. I just have to look there and know everything I need to do. But who wants to go down there?

  1. This post reminds me I need to make a list of what we have and what we still need to get. I have a long while to go before I need to start buying things but I am very much a list maker.

  2. I really like the Britax infant/toddler car seats. I have also found that 18 to 24 diapers worked best, but I don't use disposables. You're doing great :)
